A Review of Aviation Spline Research

چکیده
Splines are irreplaceable in high-speed aviation fields due to their simplicity, reliability, and high specific power. Aviation splines not only subjected severe operating mechanical loads, but also sometimes operate under grease-lubricated non-lubricated environments. All of this results suffering widespread failures. Since the 1960s, many researchers have carried out much research on splines. The wide range topics demonstrates technical challenges understanding spline. This paper reviews spline from aspects failure form, fatigue strength, surface contact stress, effects lubrication, misalignment wear, as well experiments. Relevant shows crowned can mitigate wear process induced by angular misalignment, oil-lubricating experience almost no wear. looks forward future development directions
